FABRIC CARE PAGE
Fabric Care Guide
At Stella Empire, we want your pieces to stay beautiful for as long as possible. Below you'll find simplified guidelines to help you care for our most popular fabrics. For best results, always pre-wash natural fibres and wash light or bright colours separately.

Bandage
Our premium bandage fabric blends spandex, nylon and rayon for a sculpted, second-skin fit. Handle with care to maintain its elasticity and shape.
Washing
- Dry cleaning: safest option.
- Machine wash: cool, gentle or hand-wash cycle only.
- Hand wash: lay flat in the bath, gently submerge, avoid wringing.
- Spot clean: dab gently with cold water and mild soap.
Drying
Lay flat to dry. Never hang while wet — this can stretch and distort the fabric.
Ironing
Iron inside out on low heat while slightly damp. Use a cloth between the iron and the fabric if needed.
Storage
Hang dresses with straps on padded hangers. Sleeveless styles should be stored flat when possible.
Sequin
Sequin pieces are delicate and require extra care due to their embellishments.
Washing
- Dry cleaning: recommended. Ask for gentle methods like hydrocarbon or GreenEarth cleaning.
- Hand wash: turn inside out, use cool water and delicate detergent. Avoid rubbing.
- Machine wash: only if permitted. Turn inside out, place in mesh bag, gentle cycle max 30°C.
Drying
Roll gently inside a towel to remove water, then lay flat to dry. Never tumble dry.
Ironing
Do not iron directly. Use a handheld steamer from 30 cm away or steam the garment in a bathroom.
Storage
Hang on padded non-slip hangers with enough space around them, or store very heavy items flat using acid-free paper.

Satin
Satin is smooth, lustrous and luxurious — but requires delicate care.
Washing
- Hand wash in cool water with delicate detergent.
- Soak up to 30 minutes; do not wring.
- Rinse until water runs clear.
Drying
Lay flat inside a towel, gently press water out, then air-dry on a clean towel.
Ironing
Iron inside out on low heat with a cloth between fabric and iron. Never apply direct heat.
Storage
Hang carefully (avoid clip marks) or store clean items in breathable cotton garment bags.
Polyester
Durable, easy and low-maintenance — polyester is one of the simplest fabrics to care for.
Washing
- Machine wash on normal cycle with cool or warm water.
- Wash with similar colours and fabrics.
- Optional: add a whitening booster for light colours.
Drying
- Air dry or tumble dry on medium.
- Steam or lightly iron on low heat if needed.
Ironing
Use medium heat with steam to smooth creases, or a handheld steamer.
Storage
Polyester can be hung or folded. Store clean, fully dry garments to maintain quality.
